A Slip of the Lip

Slip of the Lip

I did it again, Lord,

opened my mouth

at the wrong time…

not once,

but three times.

Why did I have to say

“comb your hair”?

Why wasn’t I just happy

that he was going to church

with me?

Am I still worried about

what others think?

I thought I had

overcome that.

In retrospect,

my heart

was more disheveled

than his hair.

Welcome. Hope you enjoy today’s poem.

I’d like for things to be perfect, but I know that’s impossible. Only God is perfect.

As you can see by my poem, at times  I still slip up when I think my way is best. I should know by now that I can’t change people. The more I try, the more they resist my efforts.

Everything works out better when I leave people in God’s hands. This week I am going to make an effort to do that. I hope you will join me if you are having the same problem.

God bless you…….Fran
