Clothing That Pleases God
Read: Colossians 3:12-17
”Let the Word of God dwell in you richly.” Colossians 3:16
Each season, magazines and newspapers dictate the fashion trends. One year boots are in, the next year they’re out. Baggy sweaters replace trimmer ones. Styles are always changing.
We often tend to worry more about our outward appearance than our spiritual characteristics. Yet no matter how good we look, if our actions are not Christ-like, we miss what really counts.
God says to clothe ourselves with joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self control. To forgive others, and put on love which binds the other virtues together.
Wouldn’t it be a good habit to fill our spirit with the Word of God each morning before getting dressed! Then God’s peace will show on our face and we will radiate his love to others.
Beauty that comes from a heart that is pleasing to God is never out of style.
Lord, help me to keep my priorities straight.
Hi Everyone…
I’m planning to start posting twice a month. I miss keeping in touch. I have lots of poems and devotions to share.
When getting dressed each day, remember that godly characteristics are more important than your outfits. Fashions change seasonally, but your actions will draw others to Christ and have eternal rewards.
Have a blessed week. Love…Fran
