Eighty-One And Still Going Strong
At eighty-one, each new day is becoming more rewarding. A new adventure is being unveiled, and it’s fun waiting to see what is coming next.
So often people think of older women and men as being non-productive or not as useful as younger individuals. But I want to tell all of you, that with God as our central focus, we can touch the world in ways we never dreamed possible. He did it for me, and He wants to do the same for you.
I’ve gone to church since I was ten. I’ve loved God and tried my best to lead a good life, but it wasn’t until I was fifty that I fully realized that I could not earn my salvation. By inviting Jesus to be my Savior and making him Lord of my life, I began a personal relationship with Him. With Jesus in charge the past thirty-one years, I am happier and more productive than I ever could have been on my own.
Who would have thought that I’d be writing, getting published, and leading a writers’ group for 23 years! Certainly not I. And to top it off, my first book at the age of 80–a milestone.
God keeps widening my world and has brought so many new friends, from so many states, into my life these past 23 years.
God has a divine plan for each of us. When we are willing to give Him the reins, the Bible says the results will be above and beyond anything that we could ever imagine.
I expect God to keep opening new doors as long as I live. I pray that He will do the same for you.
